There used to be a time when most households in India that typical masala chai. Nobody really bothered about any other variety. What is White Tea?
White tea is created from the new leaves and buds or at times only from the young buds of the tea plant, Camellia sinensis. The leaves are plucked and sun-dried. The catechins (a type of antioxidants) are preserved by this process and they are found to be in a large amount in this kind of tea. White tea has a pale yellow color, with a fruity flavor, while there could be floral notes present in some packings.
It is the most delicate teas, white tea is hand harvested from the tiny, young leaves of the tea plant. The buds are emaciated and air dried as soon as they are harvested. These teas are tarnished in the very controlled way; hence the flavor is softer and more delicate when it comes in comparison with other teas.
This tea is expensive than other teas available in the market. The reason behind this is its delicate flavor and amazing taste which is light, fruity and had no comparison with other teas present in the market. A single packing of 35-gram costs around Rs 850 which makes is quite high in price.
Thus to conclude this tea is soon going to take up the market and is good for health due to its delicate flavors.
